Looking for an opportunity for you, your family, or your city group to serve your community during this COVID-19 crisis safely? Mile City Church will be delivering care packages to families in need, and we need your help in both the shopping and delivery of these items.

Shop and Deliver: 
After registering, you will receive an automated confirmation email from Mile City. Later, we will contact you with your suggested shopping list and the address for delivery.  We ask that you purchase and deliver the care package within one week of receiving your assignment.  Once you receive your delivery information, please contact the individual who has requested a care package and arrange a time to drop off the package.  Drivers will be asked to lay each care package on the doorsteps and avoid any personal contact with the resident to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19.  Once you have delivered the package please follow up with a text to let them know that it is on their doorstep.

We are asking those who would like to donate care package(s) for families and individuals in our region who, as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, do not have the means to meet their nutritional needs. Each care package should be packed in a separate bag to minimize the handling of the goods. We estimate that a care package will cost between $30-50 based on brand, quantity and portion size of items purchased. A care package should consist of 2-3 of each of the following non-perishable food items, or similar based on availability:

  • Spaghettios and ravioli
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned meats and soup
  • Boxed macaroni and cheese
  • Cookies and chips
  • Fruit cups
  • Pudding cups
  • Rice and noodles

Other items you can volunteer to purchase if indicated on request form:*

  • Baby formula
  • Baby wipes
  • Baby food
  • Diapers

During the COVID-19 crisis, there is a good possibility that some of these items may have limited supply or may be unavailable. In that case, please purchase substitute non-perishable items that are available. Anything we can deliver to these homes in need will make a big difference.

No! In fact, to minimize the possibility of spreading COVID-19, please avoid any personal contact with the recipient.  Drivers will be asked to lay the care packages on the doorsteps and leave.

Yes! Mile City is designed with the purpose of neighbors taking care of neighbors. Our hope is that, when people register with a need in a specific area, they will be served by a family that lives in the same area. When a person registers on the Mile City portal with a need, those needs are divided into zones covering all of the areas we have designated. While you can choose to deliver to any zone you choose, we want to make this as convenient as possible for our volunteers.

We require that anyone who delivers care packages to those in need be affiliated with Mile City Church. For those in the community who are not affiliated with Mile City Church but would like to contribute to this community-wide initiative, your monetary donation will help us help those in need.
